Graham Murray coached the Steelers and he was good. He was an Eels guy that would have done good at the Eels. I know he is now deceased, but he was good.
Illawarra have now won a title under the Dragons banner coached by Wayne Bennett.

Illawarra have now won a title under the Dragons banner coached by Wayne Bennett. Steelers coaches Allan Fitzgibbon Brian Smith Terry Fearnley Ron Hilditch Graham Murray Graham Murray→Allan Fitzgibbon Allan McMahon Andrew Farrar The list is not that bad. The Steelers just didn't have good teams until 1992. The Janitor had a decent team this year and got pumped by the Storm 32-0 in the finals. A team that didn't even reach the Grand Final.

Terry Fearnley was great, just didnt have much to work with at the Steelers.
with the janitor the Eels are a long way from winning a title. The teams is almost good enough on paper, but have a janitor that cant get the very best out of them. I hope the grave digger wakes up soon.

I just can't see Parra doing better next year, even if the Roosters and Storm come down a level or two. Put the right coach in and Parra might make a Grand Final. I guess we have to wait for the Janitor to be flushed down the toilet, but I don't want to wait another 5 years. The Janitor won't even accept decent coaches to work alongside.

Bernie must have had some weekend to sign that fool for 2 more years. What a huge mistake. It didnt matter to Bernie he knew he wouldnt be around, weekends are more important to him. I hope this grave digger turn out to be a good one?

He didn't enjoy his football in 2019. Panthers culture mustn't be great. "The potential at Parra is massive". This is true, but can it be converted into success? Interesting to see how he goes next year at Parra.

The Eels cant get any better than this season because they dont have anyone that knows how to get the most out of a good team. RCG might be really good, but it is a team sport and the team want be any better than this season, the janitor is clueless. Right now he is scratching his head wondering what he can do?
Ivan Cleary must be a jerk, look how many players have left. We got a good one in Waqa Blake.

Hopefully he won't be another Darcy Lussick or Justin Poore, they were a waste of money. Ivan Cleary is a dud coach and how on earth his son made NSW halfback is mind boggling. All the decent players are leaving the Panthers and joining other clubs.

I am hoping RCG is good. Not a Fui style player, but I hopee he adds to the team. He will be better than Mannah anyway. Lussick and Poore sucked but there was even one worse, Carl Webb, the worst signing in the history of the NRL.
Cleary isnt as bad as the janitor, but then there is only one coach that is worse and that is SK by a pubic hair.

LOL I reckon there should be an award every year for the worst Eels player that didn't live up to expectation and they are to be given the Carl Webb Trophy. Or maybe the Bob Lindner trophy, because he failed at being the next Ray Price. Pretty big shoes to fill, but he was a representative player. The Janitor should be sacked just on his after game interviews. Complete borefest with no insight.

without doubt the Eels are the toughest team to support in the NRL. There decision making has always been sub-par. They havent had a good CEO since the mid 80"s and there choice of coaches has been laughable basically since Jack Gibson. To date 33 years and counting of mediocrity.
Could you imagine being born in the 90's and supporting the Eels? Never saw the glory years, just living in hope for the future?

Eels shouldn't be the toughest team to support, because they have the juniors, the stadium, the large supporter base and although not the richest club, enough wealth to survive. What more does a club need to achieve success? Manly don't have most of that, but are always successful. Those fans that were born in the 90's, experienced their first Grand Final in 2001, which was a crash and burn ending after such an amazing season. At least you and I experienced success. I remember all those premierships, and legendary players.

what amazes me was the Eels of the early to mid 80's had one of the best teams in history, and then in the 90's one of the absolute worsted. How do you figure on that under good management?
It comes down to culture, the evil empire have a good culture and the Eels dont. A number of the coaches the Eels have had have tried to change the culture, but the janitor wouldnt even know what culture is.
