the NRL is clueless when it comes to promoting a great product. As I have said before it is the most unprofessional, professional sport on the planet. Run by a bunch of amateur bums. I bet they have nobody in the hierarchy that has a background of media. I doubt there is anything about the NFL that is blocked in Australia, why would you want to block anything at all if you want to promote a sport internationally?
Andrew Johns makes himself look pretty poor saying what he has about a janitor at best. He did however win a GF with a sub-standard coach in Hagan. The Eels definitely have an awesome backline, they need a couple more forwards to maybe go to the next level, with the axing of the janitor.

Here is a clip from an article about the Eels looking at Ryan Matterson as a potential signing. He would be a good signing.
Parramatta coach Brad Arthur is on holidays and was not present at Tuesday's meeting, but both parties remain open to pursuing a possible move for Matterson back into the Blue and Gold.
The janitor is useless.

another snippet about assistant coach.
EELS SNARE HIGHLY-RATED ASSISTANT
Parramatta are set for a major boost, with the appointment of Ryan Carr as an assistant coach for next season.
Carr will take over from former Wests Tigers head coach Mick Potter, who will leave the club after just one season.
Carr has an impressive coaching resume, having been head coach at English club Featherstone and Raiders feeder club Mounties.
He also did some work with Ricky Stuart's top squad at Canberra last season and is a first-grade coach in waiting.

NRL must only care about promoting the game in Australia. The NFL website has a section for Australian supporters. Maybe we can only see this?

The janitor is useless. Ryan Matterson was an Eels player in the past. Could be an OK signing. Why not!! Eels have some spare cash and need to replace Ma'u. The Janitor on holiday? Probably Disneyland with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Haven't heard of Ryan Carr. Mop boy for BA!! LOL

I believe the janitor is on a janitors convention of the USA. They are cleaning up all the shit left by Trump supporters. The toilets look great for a short time I believe but then those supporters take a mega shit. Ryan Carr is the janitors yes man. The janitor tells him to go clean the toilets, so he does. Not as well as the janitor mind you, but it is satisfactory.
We really do talk about a lot of shit when it comes to the janitor.
It amazes me how the Eels lose so many of there juniors to other clubs before they get graded. Obviously the Eels talent scouts are lacking in ability or they just done have any???

HAHAHAH Hey, nobody talks more crap than the Janitor!! BA told the media during the finals, that he wouldn't be sitting here at this press conference if he didn't think the Eels could win a premiership. Everyone including him knew he wouldn't win a premiership. When Sterlo was asked a few weeks ago about his predictions for 2020 and maybe an Eels premiership, he side stepped and said, I think the Raiders with a little improvement can go one better. Surely finding talent amongst the juniors is not a difficult job. Why was Noel "bushman" Cleal the only decent talent scout at the Eels in the past 20 years? That's embarrassing.

this is a 100% guarantee, while the janitor is coach of the Eels, there is no hope of the Eels winning a premiership unless hell freezes over. I think totally different to Sterlo, who thinks that the janitor is quite good. I am really surprised that Sterlo cant see the reality.
Cleal was a very good talent scout who went back to the evil empire and took his boy Jamie with him. In all seriousness have we ever had a talent scout ever since? If so he or they are a total waste of Eels money.

EELS SWIPE TOP YOUNG PROP The Eels have signed one of the best young props in Queensland in young giant Isaiah Vailalo. A product of Ignatius Park College in Townsville, Vailalo shone for the school in this year’s Aaron Payne Cup and played for Queensland under 16s last year. The 17-year-old prop has plenty of skill for a big lad and was in the sights of half a dozen Sydney clubs. Ignatius Park has a proud league history. Four of their old boys - Coen Hess, Corey Jensen, Michael Morgan and Kyle Feldt - were members of the Cowboys’ premiership-winning 2017 squad.

Sterlo and Andrew Johns are basing their views on the massive improvement from wooden spooners to 5th, but the Eels should never have been wooden spooners to begin with. You can't take the Eels serious until they make top 2 and are just as good in the finals as the regular season. Even Brian Smith failed in the finals after winning minor premierships. To win a premiership these days, you basically have to be the best from Round 1 until the 80th minute of the Grand Final. The Janitor couldn't even win away from home against weaker opposition - Knights, Cowboys, Sharks and Broncos. And that defence of theirs was paper thin. Eels and Panthers are both a strange bunch. Massive junior nursery, but take a lifetime to make a Grand Final. Manly do better in those two clubs backyard. Don't know much about this new signing. This player doesn't even have a Wikipedia profile. Very young player, could take a year or two before he plays first grade on a regular basis.

I am more on the side of what Phil Gould said, it is easier to go from last to 5th than it is from 5th to 1st. The Eels have to deal with prime cheating at its best, plus a coach that cant coach. A janitor will never be the answer.
It seems you find so many Eels juniors that play for other clubs and have never played grade for the Eels. Something is terribly wrong there. Manly do seem to pull rabbits out of hats with there tiny backyard of juniors.
I know absolutely nothng about that signing either. But is does seem to me that there must be a talent scout connecting to the Eels? I am going to try and follow this young guy the best I can and see if anything comes of him?

Phil Gould has coached teams to premierships, he knows what he is talking about. Sterlo has never coached a day in his life. If the Janitor can't build on this years performance, he will never make a GF. I'm concerned BA, Mitchell Moses, Dylan Brown, Clint Gutherson and Reed Mahoney have all reached their full potential. Sea Eagles know how to find a player with massive potential. Sea Eagles also have a better culture, players want to win and Sea Eagles have that culture, that's why they don't find it difficult in attracting players to their club. Isaiah Vailalo

I dont think that any of the younger players have reached there full potential. I doubt they will get all that much better under the janitor, but if this assistant coach that we recruited is any good he may do something with them. Micheal Jennings will not get any better, he is almost past it.
I wish the Eels had the same culture as the evil empire, even when the front office at the evil empire was in dispute they still performed well on the field, except when Barrett was coach, he would almost be as bad as the janitor.
That young guy doesnt look very big, but I am sure he will get bigger as he gets older. I really would like to follow this guy to see if we have any decent talent scouts? It is hard following anything below the NRL from here.

Shaun Lane's 2019 Report Card
Author parraeels.com.au
Shaun Lane joined the Eels at the start of the 2019 season, after formally playing for the Manly Sea Eagles, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and New Zealand Warriors.
The second rower made an impact during his debut season in the Blue and Gold, scoring five tries and making an average of 109.9 metres each game.
He linked up with Michael Jennings and Maika Sivo on the left edge, which quickly turned into a try scoring combination.
Lane claimed the Jack Gibson NRL Coaches’ award for best forward at the club’s Ken Thornett Medal presentation.
STATISTICS
APPEARANCES - 25
TRIES - 5
LINE BREAKS - 6
LINE BREAK ASSISTS - 6
OFFLOADS - 22
TACKLE EFFICIENCY - 88.4%
AVERAGE RUNNING METRES - 109.9
I really like him. I would rate him one of the better forward signings we have made in some time. He has been a bit of a journeyman in the past, but I hope he keeps that form up and settles at the Eels for many years to come?

It is hard following anything below the NRL from here. Michael Jennings was State of Origin material, don't think the other players will ever reach those heights, but Origin players are the best and an elite squad of players. Still might be room for improvement like you say, but under the Janitor, those players will stay the same. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Evil Empire is the real thing. A club that can transform potential into success. Roosters buy premierships, whereas Manly develop premierships. Politis at the Roosters couldn't give a dam about developing juniors, instead he just throws money to entice the players. But Manly have a better culture, a culture of "us versus them", professional talent scouts and a will to win. They're the complete club. Roosters won no premierships, 1976-2001, until the game changed into $$$. Footage of Isaiah Vailalo
