Compared to how the Roosters played against the Broncos, I dont rate the Eels win that great. In the first half the Eels dominated with the ball ond only got 2 tries, the Roosters got 5. The Roosters really looked scary good unfortunately.
The Eels definitely have the better team. Hasler can coach and we know about the lack of ability of the janitor. I am really starting to lean towards a evil empire win by 7 to be honest, only because of hasler.

Roosters might achieve a threepeat? If the Eels had Hasler, it's grand final here we come. The Eels haven't beaten any top teams convincingly with the janitor, except that game against the Raiders last year. If the Eels can't beat Manly by a decent score then how will they beat the top teams?

the benchmark is still the Roosters and Storm and probably the Raiders as well. With the Janitor I doubt the Eels can beat any of those teams unless those teams happen to have an off game. In the finals off games dont happen much so they are no chance in the finals.
Notice that when the opposition has good defense, the Eels offense struggles, because that lame janitor cant come up with fresh ideas. Old ideas are pretty easy to defend. That is why the Eels only led 12-6 at halftime against the Broncos with all the possession.

The Eels don't have players in their offence that create something from nothing on a regular basis or even players that can find a weakness in the opposition to exploit. Instead they just keep on barging and bashing like you've said, waiting for the time when the opposition finally gives in, but against the better teams that won't work. The better teams never give in. Game day against the Sea Eagles!! Just under 4 hours until kick-off and I've heard that crowds may return, but only a small gathering for now. Fans allowed in can sit with the cardboard cut-outs.

Manly could have won if it wasn't for the touch judge!! Final pass that led to a try ruled forward. Good first half by the Eels and when the score was 18-2 I said goodnight to Manly, but they fought back. What happened in that last 30 minutes?? Good decision to go for a field goal to make the lead by 7, but didn't need it in the end. That effort by the Eels won't beat the top sides.

The Eels really blew that game. Dominated possession once again, with nothing to show for it. Yes, they won in dubious circumstances, but the bash and barge is getting old. RCG was pretty ordinary in that game, dropped ball and showed nothing from a guy that has played for Australia. The evil empire is great at pulling games from the dead, and maybe were unlucky in this game, but due to the soft defense by the Eels in the last 20 minutes of that game, they have not shown me in any way they are a defensive powerhouse. The Rooster and Storm would have blown them off the park in that game. It is time to get a coach, janitors just cant cut it in this game.

The stuff up from the touch judge gave the Eels the victory. RCG had a shocker and might end up being a dud buy. Des Hasler did say though, that Manly shouldn't have been in that situation down 18-2, so I don't think he can be too critical about that late call in the game that went against them. Panthers next week and I think that will be the toughest game so far and need to win that game because Roosters and Raiders follow and that's when the Eels will be tested.

At present I doont think the Eels have a hope at beating the Roosters unless they have an off day. I dont like there chances against the Raiders either.
RCG could well be a dud buy but I am not too worried because Kane Evans from the middle of last season has come good. The problem is, can the janitor see that. RCG is a big name because he has played for Australia, so the janitor will probably stick with him. I really feel like that game was a loss and they had it in the bag, what a lousy janitor we have.

Also I dont think the Eels would beat the Knights. Once again if this team makes the playoffs they will just be making up the numbers. They cant match it against the elite teams. Lets hope we have a coach next season?

Lets hope we have a coach next season? Raiders lost to the Knights, maybe they won't make the grand final again? It's still only early days, but I do agree with you that the Storm, Raiders and Roosters are better than the Eels, but if the Eels had a decent coach they might go all the way. Panthers this weekend. They won't be easy beats, but I expect the Eels to win. I'm tipping Eels by 8. If the Eels win this weekend that will be 5 wins matching 1983 and 1986.

you know it is quite funny that the Eels have not lost yet, but I have zero faith in them. The first 3 games were poor opposition and they really should have lost to the evil empire, so what is there to be excited about? The elite teams will bring them back to earth with a thud.
The Panthers totally blew the game against the Knights, so I am tipping an Eels win by 10. I hope it isnt an ugly game like the one last season where the Eels lost at home. That was a really ugly game.
