EELS LAUNCH CHASE FOR ORIGIN STAR Parramatta are in the market for a strike outside back are reportedly keen on luring Rabbitohs and Queensland Origin star Dane Gagai to the club. According to The Daily Telegraph, the Eels — who have been previously been linked to Kotoni Staggs — turned their attention to Gagai after meeting with him this week. The 30-year-old is coming off a four-year contract with South Sydney and is one of the hottest names on the market. He’s played 210 NRL games over stints with the Broncos, Knights and Rabbitohs as well as representing Queensland 16 times and Australia seven times. Gagai could be squeezed out of the Rabbitohs due to salary cap pressure and has previously been linked to a return to the Broncos. Gagai is currently the game’s most expensive winger, earning around $650,000, however he can also play in the centres. If Rabbitohs skipper Adam Reynolds ends up re-signing on a one-year deal, the club reportedly won’t have the cash to re-sign Gagai. It’s understood the Eels are eyeing Gagai as a replacement for off-contract winger Blake Ferguson, who was informed by the club late last year that he wouldn’t be offered a new deal beyond 2021. Interesting that the pony may leave even though it was only a few weeks ago he said he wanted to play out his career at the Eels. The Eels are not even in the hunt for a potential replacement. Adam Reynolds still hs a couple good years left but it looks like he is going to the Sharks. Shaun Johnson could be a good get for 2 years max.
I dont think we can go by the win percentage so far as it has been a fairly easy start to the season. It will get a lot tougher in coming weeks. I agree with you on the evil empire, Turbo Tom is like Andrew Johns was like for the Knights.
I tip the Eels by 18 this week. I hope they keep those dogs scoreless.

Is anything happening at all with the old Sydney Football Stadium?

Players say they want to stay with their teammates and win premierships but money does talk. Broncos must be running out of talent though in their neck of the woods if they want pony. He is an ok player, but not great. He's no Darren Lockyer. All I'm interested in is how the Eels perform against the best teams, which will tell us more about their ability. Who cares about smashing the Broncos and Bulldogs. Sydney Football Stadium is being constructed. Concourse completed. Probably take another six months for completion. Eels should beat the Dogs, but like Sterlo said this week, doesn't matter where the Bulldogs are on the ladder, they always rise against the Eels.

I have a feeling the pony will leave as well. I think he will struggle with the Broncos, because he does not handle pressure well at all.
In a week they play the Roosters, who arent as good as they were 2 years ago but are still a top class team. It will show a lot how they perform against them. I am not holding my breath for a win.
It wouldnt surprise me if the Eels struggle against the dogs. I cant believe the dogs beat the Sharks.
