it is all about culture, the evil empire has good culture and the Eels have none, simple really.
Ray Price was right about many things but when he tried to be elected, the fools still voted for the loser emperor. I hate how Ray Price was treated by the Eels after his playing days, he was a legend.

Would like to beat them again in a grand final. Ray Price these days is living somewhere around the Gold Coast. One of his rooms is decked out in football memorabilia. His place would be an Eels shrine!!

Yes agreed the evil empire does have a great culture. I wish the Eels would get a coach who can develop a great culture.
I would love to go to Ray Price's place and see it and have a good talk to him. I am sure he would have a lot of bitterness to the Emperor. Very understandable. I despise the Emperor and I have never met him.

Previously, he just hid behind all those premierships, hoping to not be exposed. I would rate Ray Price the best the club has seen. Sure, Kenny and Sterlo were talented, but Price was a true warrior and great captain and once he and Cronin retired, the Eels failed to make the finals again with the remaining premiership players.

I totally agree with you on Ray Price. After Price retired the forwards had no leader and looked lost. it was hard for Sterlo and Kenny to play behind a pack of lost forwards.
When the Emperor was incharge, do you think those elections were rigged or were the members that stupid to keep voting the prick in?

When the Emperor was incharge, do you think those elections were rigged or were the members that stupid to keep voting the prick in? Price was a champion!! Don't think the elections were rigged, people just had blind faith in Fitzgerald. Those same people today might have a different opinion of the Emperor.

I think everyone had woken up to the Emperor when he was finally voted out of office, the problem was that nothing got better after he was voted out. The Eels must have had the worst CEO's in the history of professional sports, it was like a case of bring on the next dud CEO.

The Eels must have had the worst CEO's in the history of professional sports, it was like a case of bring on the next dud CEO. Eels fans in the end were outside the club protesting, and the Emperor had no choice but to leave. I still remember the scenes when he left, fans jumping up and down celebrating as if the Eels had won a premiership. The entire scene from the Emperor leaving after no success since 1986 and fans jubilant about his departure was embarrassing. I guess you can say Fitzgerald got impeached.

The emperor got the next level after impeachment. Being impeached is only a slap on the wrist. If I was in Sydney I would have been outside the club cheering for his departure. It really must have been so embarrassing for him after ruling the roost for so long.

It really must have been so embarrassing for him after ruling the roost for so long. The Emperor had to go, 23 years later in 2009 and no further premierships. Well it's been another 10 years with no success, but hopefully the Grave Digger will create results. I couldn't open those two articles. Yep, Manly ruined the North Sydney Bears. Poor Bears, they had the longest premiership drought. Not possible to view footage from 1921 and 1922. In 1922, Norths defeated Glebe 35-3 at the SCG in front of 15,000.

I always had a soft spot for the Bears, it still pisses me off that the evil empire had them thrown out of the NRL. Footage from 1922 would be very grainy and unclear anyway.
in the past 10years how many CEO's has the Eels had? Must be around 5, that is 1 every 2 years. They all sucked as well. So embarrassing for a professional sporting body. Do the Eels understand PROFESSIONAL???

Well, I never thought in 1987, that 32 years later the Eels would not have won another premiership. I would have laughed at that thought, but here we are, all these years later with no further success, the closest was a choker coach given to us previously from the Dragons. The grave digger has got a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but can he deliver?

I think they should stick on the central coast, and play a couple games a year at Bear Park.
The grave digger at present has a very easy decision, fire the janitor, but then it gets difficult, find someone that can coach. The simple answer would have been Flanagan, but Bernie was out for the weekend.
