I think they should stick on the central coast, and play a couple games a year at Bear Park. The grave digger at present has a very easy decision, fire the janitor, but then it gets difficult, find someone that can coach. The simple answer would have been Flanagan, but Bernie was out for the weekend. A Central Coast team would be supported, but it's not really a large area with a big population when compared to places like Perth. I think the NRL should try and expand into a larger market. For example, a second Brisbane team would be supported because not everyone likes the Broncos and Brisbane has a decent population. Maybe Flanagan ruined his reputation? Grave Digger might not want a coach with prior suspensions. I definitely think Flanagan is a better coach than the Janitor, but I'm not sure yet how the grave digger thinks.

I dont know if you will ever know how the grave digger thinks. However he thinks I just hope he is a successful CEO, and the Eels go from strength to strength.
You might be right about Flanagan, I never thought of that angle.
When you think of it this way the central coast isnt that small. Before rugby league expanded outside of Sydney, there were 12 teams in the Sydney area. If you divide those teams up then maybe the central coast isnt all that small, and all the old North Sydney supporters would support them.

Nerry Christmas to you, I hope santa brought all you wanted and since you are in Australia I am sure it will be a very hot day??? Merry Christmas!! Yeah, it's summer in Australia and that means hot. Although, last week Brisbane had cyclone weather, biggest storm I've ever experienced - six months of rain came down in one hour and there was another storm last night. Gale force winds. Central Coast is made up of many areas, but I was thinking about capital cities rather than coastal cities. I'm amazed the Knights haven't tried to expand their supporter base into that area. I like the professionals - great video!! Bunnies signed Jai Arrow? Titans are so hopeless they can't keep anyone good.

wow, Australia sounds like a disaster area at present, Sydney surrounded by huge fires, Brisbane hit with cyclones.
I now realize why the Emperor failed as a CEO, as the game got more professional, he didnt keep up with the times. He was stuck in an era that just didnt work any longer.

True about the Emperor, he only looked good in the 80's, thanks to a team full of superstars. He became CEO after he retired from playing at the end of 1977, a time the club had good players and were about to finally be successful. The real test was replacing those great players, which he failed to do. From 1987 onwards, was Bob Lindner the only representative player the Eels signed until the four Bulldogs players in 1996? A entire decade of no new great players, only the ones left from the glory days.

the Emperor was a dinosaur. He couldnt move with the times and as a result the Eels went backwards under him. I honestly believe he had no interest in making a better team, it was all about lining his pockets with cash. The Eels were just a cash cow to him. His days of easy money ended when he was voted out.

The funny thing is that the Eels are building all these new facilities like the one in Kellyville, but they have a janitor who pretends to be a coach. Will the grave digger wake up to this HUGE problem???

Will the grave digger wake up to this HUGE problem??? True about the Emperor. And imagine his bonus every year, probably tax free too!! The Janitor can only bluff his way through coaching for so long. The day will come when everyone will look at the empty trophy cabinet and then sack this toilet flusher. It's been already 5 years without a premiership or even a grand final appearance.

You say he can only bluff his way through coaching for so long, but next season will be 6 years. Is it just that the Eels take longer to figure things out than everyone else??? OK, with Bernie it was just a long weekend for his 3 years and he was walking dead. The grave Digger need to act and act quickly, lets see how he does???

The Eels definitely take longer than everyone else. Do you think the Janitor would last 5 years going on 6 at Manly? Trent Barrett only lasted 3 years. Most successful players and coaches win titles within the first 5 years of their career and if it took 5 years to win a title, they would have been showing promise within the first few years. Broncos incept 1988, but don't win with Bennett until 1992, but their very first game they demolished the Premiers Manly and made the finals every year. You could see success was inevitable. But with the toilet flusher going on 6 years, you can't say a Premiership looks likely to happen.

Hagan took 1 year to win a title and he was a dud coach.
I honestly believe that if the Eels get rid of this janitor and find someone that doesnt have to be the best but have some ability, the Eels can win a title. They have a great team.
I dont think there is any other team that would have kept the janitor around for this long, the guy cant coach, he is earning a living under false pretenses. Only at the Eels.

The Newcastle Knights came of age in 1995 and won their first title two years later. When Hagan came along, they were well and truly established with another premiership just around the corner, unfortunately against the Eels. Hagan had nothing to do with their success or even building a Knights team. For Hagan it was like buying a lottery ticket which doesn't take any talent. A premiership could happen with the Eels, but definitely with another coach. The Janitor can't inspire this team on a regular basis. The loss in round 3 to the Roosters and the win against the Broncos in the finals were decent performances, but they always failed to follow up the next week.
