the Eels are famous for accepting mediocrity, Fitzgerald was a champion at it, and it has continued ever since. Agree. Parra fans deserved better. We are passionate and there are many of us. And our existence shouldn't just be a 1980's thing.

1980's is so far in the past, it really is ancient history. I also have the same problem with the Bills and the 1990's

I understand how they have to be more aware of concussion, and that is a good thing, but ruling out shoulder charges is whimpy, I am afaid.

The shoulder charge was great to watch, but when it goes wrong, the damage is terrible. I can see why they ruled it out. Remember also when players would be picked up and back slammed. Can't do that anymore too. Even fights these days are different. When a fight breaks out the players run in to break it up, whereas in the old days they would join the fight. The game has changed so much.

yes the game has changed and not all for the best. The players now are more professional and fitter, but they are definitely not as tough. it is still a great game, anyway.

John Sattler in 1970 played in a Grand Final with a broken jaw. Now that's tough!! Although, Sam Burgess played the same amount of time with a fractured cheek bone.

England might have there day in the sun again. Bennett is doing a good job with them. The test they played against NZ here in Denver last year, they were impressive.

Not sure they ever will be on the same level as Australia? Same with Cricket!! Australia always improve and go up a gear every decade while England either stays the same or goes backwards. Came close a year ago losing the World Cup by only 6 points to Australia. They haven't won a World Cup since 1972 and since then Australia has won every World Cup except one.
