Oh my poor aching back!!!! Maybe Trent can throw his ideas quietly in the players ears, from what he has learned elsewhere, and players go with it. Surely they all know the limitations of the janitor. Tim Mannah sure wasnt the answer in the tough forward stakes who can lead. I still think Mannah should have played in the last game of the regular season against the Evil Empire. That was dirty of the janitor not to pick him. Trent will be very limited. I guess he'll be paid 700K a season. Partners in crime, Shane Flanagan and Trent, would be better. I can see the Janitors point in regard to Tim Mannah. Mannah was no longer a good player and the Eels were finals bound. If the Eels were wooden spooners again, then Mannah would definitely been given one last game. Mannah had a good sook when he threatened to leave and finish out his career with the Wests Tigers, but the Eels talked him out of it. The Janitor is still a terrible coach, regardless of what I just said.

Even a janitor can get some things right. The problem is that a janitor gets too many things wrong. I personally would have had Mannah on the bench for the last game. He did however get to a GF, so all wasnt too shabby.
I wish the Eels got Flanagan as assistant coach. I cant understand why they arent very forward thinking???

Good photo, that almost looks like the janitor.
You could build a future around Flanagan, so stupid that they cant see that. There is no future with the janitor.

I can already say that there will be no improvement on this past season. The janitor has to many shortcomings. If Micheal Jennings isnt getting re-signed is there a replacement that they are looking at? They need a worthy replacement for Ma'u as well.

Interim CEO Sarantinos takes over full-time at Parramatta
parraeels.com.au
Wed 6 Nov 2019, 10:40 AM
The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Sarantinos as the Club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Jim has worked with the Club since 2016 when he was appointed to the Parramatta Eels Board as one of two PLC nominees on an interim basis while PLC underwent its governance reform process. He stepped down as a Board member in June this year to become the Club’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), and was the acting CEO when former CEO Bernie Gurr stepped down last month.
The Parramatta Eels Board commenced an extensive search for a CEO in September, which included a rigorous multi-staged process. There were a number of high calibre candidates who applied however following the final interview phase, the Board came to the conclusion that Jim represented the best candidate to lead the Club into the future.
Parramatta Eels Club Chairman Sean McElduff paid tribute to Jim’s significant contribution to the Club as an Eels Director and in his role as the COO.
“Jim has played a crucial role in stabilising the Parramatta Eels since 2016. His extensive experience, skills and capabilities are an asset to any organisation, and we are very confident he will play a major role in ensuring the Club delivers on its strategic objectives.
Workplace culture and values are very important to us as an organisation and Jim will be a significant driver of creating an environment at the Club that ensures our people reach their potential.
On behalf of the board, staff, players, members and supporters, we congratulate Jim on his appointment and wish him all the best in his new role.”
Jim said he would draw on both his business and Board member experience and place a priority on facilitating a values driven, high performance organisation.
“I’m extremely humbled to be appointed the CEO of a Club with such a rich history and a very exciting future.
The foundations have been laid over the last couple of years and I intend to build on that over the next period of our history. We play in a world class venue at Bankwest Stadium and the facilities at Kellyville Park will be outstanding.
Now that we are a stable Club, our priority is to deliver sustained success both on and off the field.
I’m looking forward to working with the Parramatta Leagues Club, the Eels Board, our staff, players, members, corporate and community partners and fans to help create an enduring sporting legacy.”
Among his accomplishments since 2016, Jim was instrumental in leading the negotiations for the Eels agreement with Bankwest Stadium, driving the Eels strategic plan and has played a major role in securing government support for our high performance centre at Kellyville.

A Janitor already at the club and now a fruit picker!! Jimbo mustn't want Michael Jennings at the club anymore. Jimbo already has one strike against his name.

fruit picker, perfect.
The club is run by blue collar workers which is fine if you want mediocrity. The people running an organization or a professional club should be white collar. They are more capable of the roll. Steve Sharp was blue collar and look what a disaster that was. Nothing wrong with blue collar, they serve a very good purpose but not to run a professional sporting identity.
At least the fruit picker doesnt get covered in shit like the janitor!!!

Fruit picker is very good but I tend to think grave digger, therefore he is in a high position with plenty of people under him.
I wonder what his feelings are about the janitor? We will never know.

The Grave Diggers experience Education He's done a company director course and is a qualified accountant. I guess that's better than Steve Sharp!! Will he be better than Bernie Gurr?

never know he may turn out alright. seems to have a good education. Only 6 months at the Eels, dont know about that. I wonder if he is an Eels man or just a corporate suit? Seems like the most successful CEO's in the NRL are passioate about the team that they are with. I will give him a chance, but if things dont work out for him in the corporate world, he has a background of grave digger to fall back on.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, the grave digger is in the house.

Matterson returns to Eels on three-year contract
Dan Walsh NRL.com Reporter
Thu 7 Nov 2019, 08:29 PM
Ryan Matterson has sealed the deal to return to Parramatta on a three-year deal, ending the messy saga that led to him being released from the Wests Tigers after less than 12 months at the club.
NRL.com understands Matterson has agreed to an estimated $1.5 million Eels deal, with an option for the third year, securing him until the end of 2022.
The 25-year-old returns to his junior club after stints at the Roosters and Tigers, the latter ending two weeks ago when Matterson was granted a release from his three-year contract.
His relationship with coach Michael Maguire was at the heart of Matterson exploring options elsewhere, having first signed with the joint-venture when Ivan Clearly was still coach in September, 2018.
Matterson's Parramatta move will also see him land a pay rise having emerged as a potential NSW Origin candidate having hit career-best form in 2019.
The prospect of a player swap with interested clubs St George Illawarra and the Gold Coast was considered by the Tigers prior to rubber-stamping Matterson's release.
But wanting to bring the matter to a head before November 1, the Tigers released Matterson to free up salary cap space in conjunction with Ben Matulino's medical retirement.
Matterson's move to Parramatta helps fill the void left in Brad Arthur's pack by the exits of Manu Ma'u (Hull FC), Tepai Moeroa (NSW Waratahs) and Tim Mannah (retirement).
The news follows a spate of Eels re-signings earlier in the week that saw Brad Takairangi, David Gower, Marata Niukore, Ray Stone and Andrew Davey extend their contracts.
Matterson is expected to report for pre-season training next month.
"It’s always great to see the return of a local Parramatta Eels junior. He’ll have a whole pre-season with the team and I know he’ll be an asset to our club next year," Eels coach Brad Arthur said.
