The janitor definitely has a very good team to work with, he just doesnt have the ability to get the best out of them. I hope the grave digger sees this and deals with it swiftly. Even though the general public never really knows exactly what goes on the the front office, I hope the grave digger handles this situation well. I hope we don't see another winning percentage of 58% in 2020. Teams really have to make top 4 if they want a grand final appearance. The janitor has to win those games that are expected, otherwise they will be pretenders. I wonder which teams will be the top sides this year?

I think the Raiders might fail this year, leaving the Storm and the Roosters the only 2 teams to beat. They are both a little weaker than they were last season as well.
If the grave digger gets his act together and all the stars align, the Eels have a chance, but will have to get rid of that toilet flushing fool and his cronies.

I don't think Ricky Stuart is good enough to go one better. Storm and Roosters will be good as usual, because both teams don't have a salary cap. Maybe the Eels can be a top 4 team, otherwise they won't get anywhere near the grand final. If the janitor fails this year, he has to go. No more 50% seasons!! That was happening in the 90's when Scott Mahon was the Eels best.

did they ever get to 50% with Scott Mahon there? I really dont think so. They were lucky they didnt win the wooden spoon when Mahon was there. The only reason they didnt was because of new teams coming into the competition.
Stuart did surprise me how well he did with the Raiders past season, they probably should have won the GF, I rate them the better team. I dont think he can capitalize of that effort. The Storm and Roosters will definitely be the teams to beat. Shame they have to cheat every year. There should be * beside both teams GF wins.

Scott Mahon and the Eels 1988-1996. 1988 - Won 8 Lost 14 1989 - Won 11 Lost 11 1990 - Won 12 Lost 9 Drawn 1 1991 - Won 6 Lost 16 1992 - Won 6 Lost 15 Drawn 1 1993 - Won 9 Lost 13 1994 - Won 7 Lost 14 Drawn 1 1995 - Won 3 Lost 19 1996 - Won 9 Lost 11 Drawn 1 50% stats - Kenny and Sterlo were still in fine form in the late 80's and 1996 the Eels had the four Bulldogs players. Just wondering with Stuart and the Raiders, will they still be driven after just falling short. It's been said, you have to lose one first to win one.

1990 what a great year for such a lousy team. 1995 was a disaster.
The Eels lost a couple before winning, but I dont think Stuart is a great coach, so dont hold the Raiders in high regard.

Every club has to prepare for the day their great players retire and for some clubs that means letting go of their great players before they retire. Although, I'm glad Sterlo and Kenny never left, because they were special players. It would be horrible to look back and remember Kenny in a Bulldogs jersey or Sterlo with Manly. As for todays players it's probably not that hard to accept, although I was disappointed when Hayne left Parra. That grand final for the Raiders will probably break them. Like the Eels in 2001.

Sterlo grew up a Manly supporter so if he was going to go anywhere else it probably would have been with them. He would have sucked in maroon and white. Kenny in a dogs jersey would have been disgusting. Blue and white would not suit him.
I know the NFL is vastly different to the NRL but most teams that lose the SB in the NFL usually have a record of not making the playoffs the following year. Take the Rams for instance. I think the Raiders chance to win a GF came and went in the last GF. If they even make the playoffs this year they will be making up the numbers.

By the way a very happy new year to you.
The really good thing about the new year means the NRL is not all that far away. I wish the NFL season went longer. It gets a bit dull when the NFL ends and before the NRL starts.

It gets a bit dull when the NFL ends and before the NRL starts. Thanks Happy New Year!! Sterlo loved Manly with a passion when he was a kid. He once said, he couldn't go to school on the Monday morning when Manly lost on the weekend. And then he ended up playing for the Eels and beating Manly in two grand finals. Kenny was a Souths supporter. Raiders could struggle this year. Not easy keeping great form from one year to another, unless cheating the salary cap. I remember the last time they won, they smashed the Bulldogs. That Raiders team had many great players led by big Mal Meninga. I like how one football code ends and the other starts up. Only two months until the NRL.

That Raiders team with Mal Meninga was one of the best teams to ever play the game. I would actually rate them better than the Eels best in all honesty, only because they had a better forward pack.
I wonder what Sterlo thinks of the evil empire these days? I am actually amazed how devoted to the Eels he still is after Fitzgerald totally alienated all the legends from the Eels. That was disgusting how that asshole did that to all those legends.

I put up a post on 1 eyed eel calling the janitor the dud coach. I copped a lot of flack, goes to show you, a lot of Eels supporters arent the smartest on the tree. Some have said I should go and support another team, go figure.

That was disgusting how that asshole did that to all those legends. The Canberra Raiders, 1989-1994 was one of the best the game has seen, or definitely in the modern game. Very hard though to compare players and teams from different era's, which is why I never really go there. How many footy fans in America get involved in Tom Brady v Joe Montana, who is the GOAT!! That debate will never end. Sterlo is an Eels fan for life. Possible he hates Manly? I hope so!! Don't think they show women's NRL on T.V. You can download highlights on YouTube. I find 1Eyed Eel a little boring. It's OK, but I lose interest. I prefer to have a website with just a small group of supporters. And of course you copped a bagging, because calling BA a dud is looked upon as bagging the Eels. Many fans can't separate criticism of what is ordinary and the club they support. They see everything as "the Eels", you bag a particular player or coach, you're bagging the club / team. So shallow and one dimensional, in my opinion. Andrew Johns thinks the Eels are a chance!! He's assessment is correct, the Eels need to improve their defence and also learn how to grind out a tough win.
