My folks werent into rugby league either.I started going to games with friends when I was about 12. Sometimes if nobody else would go I would go to some big games by myself. What year was your first game? Can you remember who played?

I would have thought it would be a sell out against anyone. The first game at a brand new stadium, I would be all over that. I wish I went to the first game at the previous Parramatta Stadium, what a game that was unless you supported the Dragons. Hayne would probably be more honest than politicians. You would think so, but Eels v Tigers will definitely be a sellout. Both teams have heaps of supporters and it's the first game of the season, before the crowds start to drop in numbers as both teams will fail again this year. I remember at the start of 1986 and the big build up to Parramatta Stadiums first game. Even the Queen of England showed up and gave a presentation. Yeah, politicians will lie your life away, Hayne just bites.

I dont remember the Queen being there, but I remember the first try scorer was Steve Sharp. He never scored many tries but sure was a great defender. Shame he wasnt a good CEO.
If the Eels played the Titans in the first game I bet it would have sold out. The stadium can only take 30K, not really large. It sure looks good.
Keep vaginas out of the equation, Hayne may not even bite?

Eels v Panthers, Dragons v Panthers and Bulldogs v Panthers. All 3 games at Penrith Park. Parramatta Stadium was being built at the time.

Keep vaginas out of the equation, Hayne may not even bite? Queen Elizabeth visits Parramatta Stadium to officially open it in 1986. Steve Sharp was a good player, but a miserable CEO. Game 1 would be a sell-out no matter who they played, but by Round 25 running dead last, 5,000 will turn up. LOL Not sure about the biting? Maybe other girls will come forward in time. A mini Cosby / Weinstein case.

ok, I really dont remember. The new stadium will not have so much fanfare.
I was really hoping Steve Sharp would be a good CEO, because his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately it was beyond him.
the Eels if running last will get the same crowd size they had last season, the stadium will not make for larger crowds, but I dont think they will come last.
Hayne will get away with it and Cosby didnt. Weinstein, I guess time will tell. There are a lot of woman who have accused him.

really, did you live out near Penrith? I have only been to Penrith Park once and I thought never again, I rate it with Endeavour Field which I also hate. They were both a long way to go and really bad grounds.

They were both a long way to go and really bad grounds. I grew up in Blacktown. Penrith was only a 25 minute drive down the highway. A lot easier to get to than Belmore Sports Ground. I think my family had friends that lived in Penrith that year and they wanted to go to the football. I didn't start going to games on a regular basis with friends until the late 80's. Parramatta Stadium was the best ground in the 80's and 90's.

parramatta stadium was awesome. I liked the hill on the northern end where the scoreboard was. I always preferred the hill area at grounds. Modern stadiums dont have them. Only the out of date grounds still have them.

Only the out of date grounds still have them. It was the best ground in Sydney to watch football. How many grounds were dives!! Brookvale, Leichhardt, Shark Park, Penrith Park, Belmore, Kogarah, Redfern, Henson etc Parra moved into the future in the mid 80's, while other clubs were living in the 50's!!
