Steve Sharp had his heart in the right place, unfortunately he isnt a talented businessman.
All the NFL teams are privately owned, but they dont have anything like a leagues club helping them out. I dont know that there are enough people in Australia that are wealthy enough to privatize NRL teams. Mind you NRL clubs run on chicken feed compared to NFL teams.

Steve Sharp was a disgraceful selection. Even the cops got involved in the end. A complete and utter embarrassment. The NFL is located in the richest and most popular country in the world. The Super Bowl would be televised in every civilized country. Maybe the NRL clubs should be owned by private companies? Broncos are owned by News Corp Australia. Eels could be owned by insurance and / or mining companies or maybe the top banks.

I would not have a problem if the Eels are bought by a well to do company. It sure as hell cant be any worse run than it has been for decades now. I just dont think Victoria's Secret would be a good owner.

I just dont think Victoria's Secret would be a good owner. The current situation can't be good for the future. You need wealthy people and / or business. Or if the Eels owned Bankwest Stadium, they could make a fortune, leasing out to various teams and other activities for the night, but the cost of that stadium would be more than the Eels are worth. Teams might in the future start taking home games to other capital cities to gain money and supporters?

Eels to Darwin once a year, how many supporters can you get there? That Bankwest stadium would be worth 10 times more than the Eels.
On the subject of stadiums, what is happening with the football stadium next to SCG?

On the subject of stadiums, what is happening with the football stadium next to SCG? The Darwin game is nonsense. Should be taking a game to Perth instead, a capital city that has no NRL team, but instead Parra have gone to the bush. Even though Darwin is a capital city, it's still the bush. Sydney Football Stadium - no news articles since June / July, but the stadium has been demolished. Last we heard, the State government was looking for a new developer.

Darwin is a joke, the attendance is pathetic and it must be horrible playing in that kind of humidity.
Why is the State Gov looking for a new developer? Did they fire the original one?

Under 5K bush people in attendance to see an NRL club. Would the NFL take a game to North Dakota...I don't think so!! I think the original developer wanted more money.

The original developer is scum. They pull the place down and then hold the state to ransom.
North Dakota, that is a great comparison. North Dakota is shit out of luck when it comes to NFL games. So is South Dakota for that matter.

So is South Dakota for that matter. North and South Dakota is probably better than Darwin. Darwin would be hot all year round with nothing to do. Horrible place. Here's some interesting news - Former Parramatta Eels coach Brian Smith shown the door by the Warriors The New Zealand Warriors have parted company with ex-Parramatta, Newcastle and Sydney Roosters coach Brian Smith. Smith has been the Warriors general manager of football for the past two years but after a dispute with club management they are going their separate ways. The ex-NRL head coach had 12 months remaining on his contract but Fox Sports has been told Smith will not be returning to the New Zealand club. Smith was in charge on conducting the Warriors season reviews and also staff contracts but was recently informed his role would be altered heading into 2020. The Warriors made the finals in 2018 and were beginning to show signs of becoming a strong side on the field before taking a step backwards in the season just finished. After the big call to move on Kiwi Test playmaker Shaun Johnson over the summer, the Warriors struggled to make inroads into the top eight and finished 13th.

BS would be past it. The game has moved on and he still chokes. The coach there is one of the worst 2 coaches in the NRL. I dont know why they bothered recruiting him. Having said that the Eels will now probably pick him up?

Having said that the Eels will now probably pick him up? That's true. BS was coaching teams to the Grand Final as far back as 1992. The last choke in 2010. What a strange coaching career, regular season - strong and could win minor premierships with tough defence, but the finals a complete fark up. BS could also build a strong club. Stephen Kearney is not a coach and the excuses everyone made for him failing at Parra were a joke.

Warning Will Robinson, watch for the Eels to sign up BS. I hope that isnt the case but who knows with the Eels?
The janitor has a better team than Kearney did at the Eels, but the janitor still got a wooden spoon. Who is worse?

The janitor has a better team than Kearney did at the Eels, but the janitor still got a wooden spoon. Who is worse? Eels won't sign Brian Smith. The Janitor would not allow a more experienced person on the coaching staff, who would show him up in the first few weeks. Janitor or SK? That's a tough one. I think SK has nothing to offer, but I haven't seen anything the Janitor has done to create a better Eels team. Eels only made the finals this year, because Norman and Hayne were no longer around which gave Moses and Gutherson more room to move and the new stadium lifted the team. Nothing to do with the Janitor. SK's interviews after the game have zero insight, but the Janitor just states the obvious. Tie?

Both the janitor and SK have pretty good teams to work with, SK does nothing with his team at all, and the janitor did manage a playoff win. By a nose hair I would just give the janitor a better rating. Goes to show like the dearth of loser CEO's at the club, the coaches are in about the same league. Wow, do the Eels have a lot to learn.
If the Eels did sign BS what would he honestly have to offer. The game has past him by. Yes, I think he is better than the janitor, one lives in the past and the other cleans up a great toilet, that just isnt going to get the Eels anywhere.
