I dont know that you can talk about last season because every player at the Eels last season was really bad. Bevan French is a small guy so couldnt carry the weight of the team on his shoulders. Scott Mahon sure was an embarrassing player. True, but I think we have seen the best of Bevan French. Surely BA is not that dumb to have a quality player that could make a difference not in the team? I think BA knows who to select, but he has no game plan or inspiration to motivate the players.

I dont agree with you, about BA knowing who to pick. I really think he is quite clueless in that respect as well. A lot of the big name players pick themselves, and if they dont perform BA doesnt know where to go. I do agree with you about BA not being able to inspire and motivate. It is quite obvious.

If BA doesn't know which players to select, he is worse than we think!! He must only know when it's real obvious, like Tim Mannah being dropped or Gutherson should be in the side, because Guth is consistent every week. Parra are currently 6th, but Knights and Sharks have been terrible over the past month. Those two teams have made BA look like a good coach this year!! Watch the Storm and Roosters catch a virus and BA will end up a super coach.

maybe a super coach this year, but reality will hit hard next year when they fight for the wooden spoon. I hope they do next year, so he gets fired. Cant stand another 2 years of him.

You can tell BA has no impact on the team. He's basically a caretaker - someone to hose the turf at Bankwest Stadium and replace the toilet paper, but thinks he knows a thing or two about footy.

he is sure earning damn good money to be a janitor. I would be a janitor for that sort of mullah? I guess he plunges the blocked toilets as well? Even after all of that he coaches for free. What a dude?

‘I didn’t write it’: Annoyed Arthur slaps down Radradra’s Eels return
Eels coach Brad Arthur has slapped down reports linking the club to former star winger Semi Radradra.
The 27-year-old Fijian flyer is playing rugby union in France, but a report in The Daily Telegraph said he no longer enjoys the lifestyle and wants to return to Australia.
A move would spark a bidding war for the former NRL star, with the Eels in the box seat to snatch him off the market despite his likely $1 million asking price.
But when asked about the report on Friday morning, Arthur was noticeably annoyed.
“One of the boys said this morning... I haven’t heard anything about it,” he said.
“Unless he spoke to someone else at the club but I’m sure I’d know about it.”
When asked if the move is something the club would welcome, the coach said: “I don’t know, I hadn’t even thought of it. We’ve got our own Semi Radradra don’t we?”
Winger Blake Ferguson has been a revelation at the Eels since signing at the start of this season, and it’s believed they have finally found a spark they need on kick-returns since losing Radradra at the end of 2017.
The report claimed Radradra would remain in rugby until the end of the World Cup in September/October, but is hoping to strike a deal to bring him back afterwards.
When asked where the story came from Arthur’s patience thinned.
“I don’t know, I didn’t write it. I didn’t make it up. I’ve got no idea,” he said.
“If Semi wanted to come back to the club of course we’d be interested. But I haven’t heard anything about it. It’s all speculation. As I said, I didn’t write it so I don’t know where it came from.”
Put Semi in the forwards!! Parra's forwards are soft.

of course he sounds like he really wouldnt want him. Might make him look good and the janitor position might be in jeopardy? I dont know that Semi would really be worth the asking price? I am sure the Roosters or Storm can find a way to accommodate him?

I am sure the Roosters or Storm can find a way to accommodate him? BA wouldn't even know which players are in the team this week. Of course he doesn't know anything about Semi. The players would of heard about Semi. No salary cap out Bondi way. Semi will most likely end up there and win a Premiership. How many Parra players moved on and found success. I should create a team 1 to 13 starting with fullback - Brett Hodgson.

Eels release Bevan French
The Parramatta Eels Club has tonight agreed to release Bevan French from the remainder of his playing contract to join Wigan in the English Super League.
The request from Bevan is subject to the finalisation of the necessary paperwork by the Club and NRL on Monday.
Bevan first signed with the Eels in 2013 and made his NRL debut in Round 12, 2016. The 23 year old has scored 35 tries in 47 first grade appearances.
In 2017 Bevan represented the Indigenous All Stars team against the World All Stars.
The Parramatta Eels Club wishes Bevan the best of luck in the future.

Bevan French was good for some time. I know he wasnt good last year, but nobody else was either. I think he will have a good future with a team that gives him a chance.
Of course Semi will win a premiership if the Roosters get him. Wing. Pat Richards

Maybe you could say, Parra a poorly run club has let down many players over the years. Centre - Jamie Lyon. And captained another club to success.

I look at Bevan French when given a chance to succeed. He may well be anther one that got away. 5/8. James Maloney. Bevan French will probably win a Premiership in the English Super League. Parra are cursed!! Halfback? Don't think Parra have produced any halfbacks that won a Premiership elsewhere. The ugly reality of Parramatta's halfback crisis since Peter Sterling's retirement
Parramatta has won four premierships since they entered the competition in 1947 and all four of those contained the same halfback, Peter Sterling.
Sterlo made his debut off the bench in Round 18, 1978 and by 1981 he was one of the premier halfbacks in the game, eventually rising to the best and widely regarded as one of the greatest ever in the game's history.
In Round 3 of the 1992 season, Sterling was helped off the field just half an hour into Parramatta's game against the Magpies, with a recurrence of a shoulder injury which had been reconstructed just a year ago. A few days later a teary Sterling announced his retirement from the game in a very emotional press conference.
Sterling finished his career having played 228 games for Parramatta, 221 of which were at halfback, of which he won 63.35% of games, including four premierships.
Ever since, Parramatta has tried desperately hard to fill his immense shoes, with many halfbacks tried and tested, but none managing to do as Sterling did and lead the Eels to a premiership.
In those 26 years since, Parramatta has used 35 different halfbacks. Only three sides have used more over the same period of time: Souths (43), Penrith and the Roosters (36).
Surprisingly, not one of those 35 players have played more than 71 games in the No.7 jumper. Tim Smith and Chris Sandow have both started in 71 games as halfback, with Jeff Robson the only other Eel since Sterling retired to have played more than 50 games in the No.7 jumper. He played 52 games.
They've had 14 players with less than 10 games at halfback. Just eight more players have played between 10 and 20 games.
Eight of the 35 halfbacks since Sterlo have managed a better winning record, but none of them played any more than 35 games in the halfback role. They are:
Troy Pezet - 3 games, 3 wins - 100% James Webster - 1 game, 1 win - 100%
Luke Burt - 1 game, 1 win - 100%
Jason Taylor - 26 games, 20 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses - 76.92%
Kieran Foran - 8 games, 6 wins, 2 losses - 75%
Jeremy Smith - 10 games, 7 wins, 3 losses - 70%
PJ Marsh - 15 games, 10 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses - 66.67%
David Penna - 35 games - 23 wins, 12 losses - 65.71%
Peter Sterling - 221 games, 140 wins, 4 draws, 77 losses - 63.35%
Prior to the debut of Sterling, Parramatta had played 637 games, winning 37.36% of games. During the Sterling era Parramatta won an immensely better 59.40% and since he retired, they've scored 46.19% of games won from the 656 played.
Trying to replace someone like Peter Sterling is a near impossibility, as Parramatta has proven. However, the Eels haven't really persevered with any halfbacks since he retired. Given they haveappeared in just 2 grand finals since, while 15 of their seasons since has seen them finish in 10th place or lower on the ladder.
Their most recent halfback acquisition, Mitchell Moses, has played 32 games, winning 43.75% of his games in the No.7 jumper. Parramatta's history suggests that he may only get another season and a half worth of games at halfback before he gets discarded for the next option.
Will Parramatta stick with him?

Luke Burt should have been used as a halfback, what an awesome strike rate he had.
That is an embarrassing array of lousy halfbacks. That would have to be the worst list of halfs in the history of the game?
