Make a grand final and everyone wants your players. While I don't think the Eels halves are premiership material I wouldn't want to see them leave unless new signings would be made.

I wouldnt care if one trick left, but Dylan Brown was very ordinary in the GF as well.

I read earlier that the Eels were going to play the dogs in the first round. It doesnt matter though.

I wouldnt care if one trick left, but Dylan Brown was very ordinary in the GF as well. Eels forwards were ordinary, couldn't stop the Panthers making ground. Panthers would start the tackle count 20 out from their line and by 5th tackle only be 20 out from the Eels line. The Eels halves didn't have much to work with, but they too had a shocker.

The Lowdown Teams they play twice Panthers, Roosters, Cowboys, Broncos, Storm, Sea Eagles, Titans, Bulldogs. Teams they play once Sharks, Tigers, Dolphins, Dragons, Warriors, Rabbitohs, Knights, Raiders. Day-by-day breakdown Thursday: 4 games Friday: 9 games Saturday: 5 games Sunday: 4 games Monday: 2 games Turnaround time 5 Days: 3 games 6 Days: 7 games 7+ Days: 13 games Byes Round 14, 18 and 27. Opening month Brad Arthur’s men have the honour of opening the 2023 season when they host Melbourne at CommBank Stadium on Thursday, March 2. They are at home again in Round 2 against the Sharks before a trip to the northern beaches to face the Sea Eagles in Round 3 and a shot at grand final revenge against Penrith in Round 4 in front of the CommBank faithful. Origin watch If Nathan Cleary stays fit then he’ll be the NSW halfback so Mitch Moses will be free to concentrate on the Eels but forwards Junior Paulo, Shaun Lane and Reagan Campbell-Gillard could all be in the Blues frame. The Eels will face an under-strength Cowboys outfit in Round 13 ahead of Origin I and then tackle Manly in the week before Origin II and the Warriors before Origin III. The run home The Eels face the Storm at a venue yet to be decided in Melbourne (Round 22) and the Broncos at the Gabba (Round 24) as the NRL makes way for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Rugby league was last played at Brisbane’s iconic Gabba ground in 1956 when Australia and New Zealand met in a Test match. After a massive game against Penrith in Round 26 the Eels have the luxury of a bye in Round 27 to rest weary bones and ready themselves for another finals campaign. And another thing... The Eels are the kings of the public holiday Monday game, featuring on Easter Monday against Wests Tigers at Accor Stadium in Round 6 and again in Round 15 on the Queen’s Birthday when they face the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium. Both those games resulted in shock losses for the Eels in 2022 – a 21-20 loss to Wests Tigers and a 34-4 humbling at the hands of the Dogs.

Lane missed a chance of touring with Australia because his GF performance was bad, but same with all the other forwards. The only one that looked to really try hard was Papali'i. He will be a huge loss.
The Eels look to have a hard season ahead. Play all the best teams twice. Dont like the 3 byes at all.
