In 2006 the Eels’ cult front rower was referred directly to the judiciary after then Melbourne prop Brett White accused the big Tongan of biting him on the bicep during the second half of their midseason clash at Parramatta Stadium. After a lengthy hearing Moimoi was found to be not guilty but that didn’t save him from being temporarily dubbed “Chewy Chewy Moimoi” by some cheeky fans.
