The Jets just didn't have an answer to Parramatta's strength and they paid the penalty.
Eels' hooker Ron Hilditch was the star of the day crossing for three well-deserved tries and walloping Barry Jensen 10-4 in the scrums.
"Mighty" Mick Cronin came within an ace of breaking Eric Simms' record after taking his tally to 260 points.
Cronin was called back for a forward pass in the first half when a try under the posts was a certainty.
Graham Olling, Bob Jay, Greg Heddles, Graham Murray and Neville Glover were other stars in a top team display.
