Round 7, 1977: Parramatta 23 d Penrith 4

Parramatta remained on top of the League ladder with a convincing 23-4 win over Penrith at Cumberland on Sunday.
The Eels were clearly superior in what was expected to be a tough, hard match.
But the Amco Cup match during the week took it's toll on Penrith and they were never a match for Parramatta.
The losses by Balmain and Canterbury helped Parramatta to clear to a two-point lead over Cronulla, Easts and St George.
The Eels scored five tries, two to Graeme Atkins and while they have played better this year, they still had too much strength for Penrith.
Ray Price and Ray Higgs had strong matches for the winners.
Higgs was credited with 41 tackles for the match.
SCRUMS: Penrith 9-7
PENALTIES: Penrith 15-10.
