22nd June 1990 Cronulla 14 (Andrew Ettingshausen, Glenn Coleman tries, Matthew Corkery 3 goals) defeated Parramatta 8 (Brian Jackson try, Scott Mahon 2 goals). Venue: Parramatta Stadium. Crowd: 18,042. Referee: Geoff Weeks. Official Yearbook of the NSWRL David Middleton Cronulla subdued Parramatta's key combination of Brett Kenny and Peter Sterling and so came away from Parramatta Stadium with a 14-8 win. Attempts to shut down Kenny and Sterling had failed for a month before Barry Russell, Laurie Spina and Co. went to work. Russell, playing at five-eighth for the injured Michael Speechly was particularly effective in giving Kenny no room to move throughout the game. Cronulla winger Glen Coleman scored the only try of the first half when he linked with opposite winger Matthew Corkery who made a clean break through the Eels' forwards. Parramatta struck back straight after the break when Brian Jackson scored his regulation try to level at 6-all. But just four minutes later Sharks' centre Andrew Ettingshausen scored the try that turned the game when he deflected a Peter Sterling kick, regathered and raced 75 metres to the line. It gave Cronulla a 12-6 lead and the Eels could not reply. Brett Kenny plays his 200th game in Round 13 against Cronulla.

Round 13, 1990: Cronulla 14 d Parramatta 8
The Eel Magazine July 1990
The Sharks attacked strongly in the first half scoring the only try in the 12th minute to lead 6-2 at the break. Jacko evened things up just after half time with a fine try, and Parramatta were attacking the line strongly when lady luck dived in with E.T. charging down a Sterlo grubber kick and scoring. The final score was 14-8.
