Sandow Switch To Fullback
Brad Arthur names Chris Sandow at fullback for the Eels first trial match
Chris Sandow will start at fullback for the Eels first official trial against Wests Tigers in Alice Springs.
With Jarryd Hayne being rested, it's believed the 25-year-old approached coach Brad Arthur about the switch to the back.
At 173cm, it will be interesting to see how he goes handling the high ball, but it's believed the halfback has been defending at fullback during sessions over the pre-season, working with former Eels player Luke Burt.
Sandow's personal off-field dramas have been well-documented with coach Brad Arthur yet to settle on a halves pairing for round one with Luke Kelly and Corey Norman also in the mix.
Sandow says he's ready to make a fresh start this year.
"I know I've been here at Parra a few seasons now and I haven't done what I know I can do since I've been here, but I just have to put my head down and work really hard," Sandow said in an interview last month with The Daily Telegraph.
"2013 was a bit up and down, gambling and stuff, but I'm on top of that which is really good, and changing the way I've been eating and presenting myself at training and off the field which is good."
Parramatta play Wests Tigers at Anzac Oval in the Northern Territory on February 8.

"We want to be nice and disciplined with our defence, be accountable, make sure everyone makes their tackles and in the conditions we’re in, we need to make sure we control the football and complete our sets," Arthur said.
"We’re looking forward to seeing when the boys get put under a bit of pressure and when they’re tired, who’s going wants to stand up and lead, or who wants someone else to do their job."
