Bob Lindner (born 10 November 1962) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s, and coached in the 1990s. An Australia national and Queensland State of Origin representative forward, he is one of a handful of players to be named man-of-the-match in State of Origin football more than once. Fifteen years after his retirement from football in Australia, he had made the most appearances and scored the most tries of any forward in State of Origin history.
After 28 games over two seasons for the Eels in which they failed to play finals football, Lindner signed with newly created expansion team, the Gold Coast Giants for the 1989 NSWRL season.

A brilliant debut match by Bob Lindner pushed the 'go' button, at last, for premiers Parramatta.
The big occasion, a game against their grand final rivals before 19,000 fans at the Stadium, really brought out the best in the Eels.
And it was Lindner who was the big talking point afterwards. He performed brilliantly 'first up', running and tackling with great relish.
It was a match of great intensity, and plenty of drama. Canterbury's hard man, Peter Kelly lasted only 11 minutes, before being marched for a high tackle on Peter Wynn.
Against a revved up Parramatta who just had to win Canterbury found the task of playing for 69 minutes a man down, beyond them.
Gradually Parramatta edged away.
It was 8-0 when John Muggleton potted four straight goals, and then 14-0 when Muggleton was awarded a 53rd minute penalty try, after Paul Dunn was ruled to have unfairly held him back in a chase for the ball.
Canterbury picked up tries in the last 20 minutes (Alchin, Farrar), but the game, and the premiership points were long gone by then.
The 'Bookends', Bugden and Leabeater, and Eels skipper Peter Sterling, with a fine, scheming game, shared the honors with new boy Lindner.
Parramatta 20 (P.Sterling, J.Muggleton (pen) tries, J.Muggleton 6 goals) defeated Canterbury 8 (J.Alchin, A.Farrar tries).
