4. Parramatta Eels (4)
A professional effort to beat the Bulldogs. That's what Parramatta have to produce against the bottom 11 or so teams. If they can keep doing that, the Eels will again put themselves close to the top four and earn an extra bite of the cherry come finals time.

Eels skipper Clint Gutherson (91) was unstoppable in a 32-10 win over Canterbury, topping the round with two tries and 10 busts despite getting an early mark from coach Brad Arthur.
His teammate Isaiah Papali'i now has to be regarded as a genuine keeper after holding a starting edge spot despite the return of Ryan Matterson, bumping Shaun Lane to the bench and piling on another 80 NRL Fantasy points.

Just the fact that the Roosters have a coach is advantage Roosters. I am tipping the Roosters by 6 due to there injury toll, if there side was less affected with njuries I would tip a larger amount. It eeems like we will be stuck with Moses for longer. I would have liked to see Mahoney as a half. He has a great kicking game and he is always thinking. I think he is one of the best players in the NRL at present. Eels are a chance at winning, but Roosters are a fast attacking team and that could beat the Eels. Mahoney and Gutherson will have to play their best if the Eels are a chance. Pony is staying!! He must think he's a chance at winning a premiership with the Eels. I can't blame him for turning down the money, Kevin Walters and the Broncos are the pits.

Like I said before because of the Rooster high injury toll I do give the Eels a chance as well. A full strength Roosters I wouldnt give them a chance.
The pony has not been playing any worse of late with all the contract saga going around in his head. It isnt hard to stay at the same level when you really arent all that good. I think the Broncos dodged a bullet with him. He would have been on really big money and would not be able to handle the pressure.

Eels should win because they're playing at home, although they did lose to the Dragons at Bankwest. Such a big game for the Eels and the flushing fool, I am nervous. I really want the Eels to win though, because beating the top teams during the regular season, gives us fans at least delusional optimism. Crashing in the finals will still happen. Broncos were desperate, and maybe dumb as well. Just because the Eels are second on the ladder, doesn't mean they have a quality halfback. In 2009, Eels made the grand final with Jeff Robson.

Team List - Eels v Roosters, Round Nine The Parramatta Eels' team to take on the Sydney Roosters in Round Nine has been named. Nathan Brown has been named to start, despite leaving the field early during last week's game injured. Isaiah Papali'i will start in the second row, with Shaun Lane named on the bench. Kick-off is on Friday 7th May at 7:55pm at Bankwest Stadium.

I thought Jeff Robson was a good player. Solid all round but nothing fancy. Would not scare the opposition but defended well. If the pony was as reliable as him I would not complain.
I hardly know any of the Roosters team. Maybe the Eels will take them lightly. Dont know either of the halves but have heard that Sam Walker is very good. Maybe he will show the pony a thing or two?
