7. Brad Arthur (Parramatta Eels) He might have won on the weekend, but doubts linger on whether Arthur is the man to take them to a title. Arthur did sign an extension in August which will keep him in the top job until the end of 2022, but as we know contracts mean very little. For all the success Parramatta have had in previous seasons, those finals finishes don’t mean anything if he can’t capitalise on it. There is talk of discontent between Arthur and the club’s football department and there have been repeated links to Shane Flanagan in recent weeks. Eyebrows were raised over Arthur’s decision to flip five-eighth Dylan Brown and back-rower Shaun Lane to the right edge, with Mitchell Moses and Ryan Matterson heading to the left. They got away with it against a depleted Broncos outfit. But if it starts costing his side victories, then it might also cost him in his job.
Love the last sentence. Sign Flanagan now before someone else does.

As we've heard for decades, this could be Eels' year. If everything clicks they are potential premiers but if things go against them, it could crater quickly.
The new rules will suit smaller packs, which is not good news for Junior Paulo and Reagan Campbell-Gillard. Mitchell Moses, Ryan Matterson and Nathan Brown need to live up to their hype to support captain Clint Gutherson and it's also a crucial year for coach Brad Arthur.

Eels. Before anyone gets onboard the Eels bandwagon, they should remember the disclaimer that comes on at the end of superannuation commercials: "past results are not a reliable indicator of future performance." Over the last five seasons they’ve gone from third last, to top four, to the wooden spoon and back again. Who knows what they’ll bring in 2021.

The dunny cleaner won tonight, but I'm still not convinced because the Eels always play terrible in the finals. OK, they finally beat a full strength Storm team for the first time in a very long time, but Cameron Smith has retired and it's only Round 2. I will say this though, the Storm could possibly not be as threatening this year, but they'll most likely be there in the end. Decent performance by the Eels tonight in wet weather conditions which also kept the crowd away. Would like to see more of that. Still not the perfect game, but the Eels can build on that. Oh yeah, sack this failure of a toilet plumber!!

The Eels were impressive but the rain was a hindrance to the Storm. I would like to see that game played under clear weather conditions. I dont think the Eels would have won, but I am proud of the way they played anyway. The defense was solid which is rare to see and the offense was OK but nothing to write home about. Two tries from kicks and one from a monster close to the line dont convince me.
Yes fire the flushing pest.
