It looks a lot better than the old stadium Yeah, more modern. The big screen can flash the wooden spoon at the end of the year. LOL I can't believe we have this new stadium, but an ordinary team.

The stadium is not owned by the Eels is it? Western Sydney is a huge area and needs something like that Stadium. Isnt Sydney Football Stadium being pulled down and rebuilt? There was nothing wrong with that stadium, that is a waste of money.

There was nothing wrong with that stadium, that is a waste of money. I don't think Rugby League clubs are wealthy enough to own football stadiums. NFL teams would own their home ground Stadium, which would be one of many sources of income. Yes, Sydney Football Stadium is being torn down and rebuilt to improve the facilities in the stadium. I think the capacity will be the same or 5,000 more. I liked that Stadium to watch football from.

I think from memory Cronulla own there stadium, but it is pretty sub-standard. Just cant believe that Sydney Football Stadium is being pulled down. There are a lot of other grounds that are sub-standard and they rebuild what was already very good, LOGIC???

They were going to build a multi-million dollar complex with accommodation, but that never came about. SFS was a great ground. Better than most in Sydney. It was embarrassing that prior to the stadium existing at Homebush (Olympic Ground), Sydney did not have a ground with a capacity of more than 50,000. A major city hosting Grand Finals of 40,000. Melbourne had the MCG which held 100,000.

Melbourne has always been the sporting capital of Australia if I remember correctly. They support a lousy game, that AFL. Never did like it. They make the crowd numbers to an NRL game embarrassing.

I too could never get into AFL. Definitely a strange game. Australians who mock the sport call it, "Aerial Ping-Pong". But like you say, the crowds are massive. Collingwood v Essendon always attracts an attendance of 90,000 - 100,000. And all the Melbourne teams are only a few kilometres apart from one another and very close to the CBD, unlike Sydney and the NRL.
