the question is, if they come 10th is that good enough for the front office to get rid of the flushing fool? The front office doesn't give a dam about premierships, which means 10th is fine. Memberships are the highest they've ever been, more fans in attendance because of Bankwest, therefore it doesn't matter what rubbish the janitor delivers every year, profits are up!!

The more you study and attend university completing courses, the higher the income because you become more qualified at managerial positions, but at the Eels they are all janitors, grave diggers and a grim reaper pretending to be the front office. Imposters!!

Only at the Eels, it is a disgrace there. Bernie Gurr was supposedly very experienced from having done management in the US, but what did he offer the Eels? He was like a dead man walking. They made a movie about it.

Must of been work experience at the Eels. Osbourne was awesome in the 1994 grand final for the Raiders as a late replacement before the game, but couldn't manage if his life depended on it.

Funny I saw a clip of Paul Osbourne playing with the Raiders yesterday. Wasnt there another CEO that was mafia connected? He was totally corrupt. The Eels have a track record of bum CEO's. Nothing ever changes with them.

Nothing ever changes with them. Ray Spagnolo!! Here's an interesting paragraph - Among those to have had memberships created in their name and backdated were Spagnolo's brother-in-law Patrick Agostino, friend Roy Mittiga, who was jailed in 1992 over insurance fraud, former friend George Gaitanos, whom Spagnolo is now suing, Vince Lombardo, who provides the team with free drinks and meals at his Brisbane pub, and bankrupted real estate agent Pat Sergi, who was named at the Woodward royal commission into the late crime boss Robert Trimbole's marijuana activities in Griffith.Nothing good can come from all of that.

They all sound like NY mafia names. Mind you I love italians and the country, but that Spagnolo was a scumbag at the eels. There sure was a lot of jail time and suing going on. I still think the best CEO the Eels have had was Steve Sharp, he had his heart in the right place. Unfortunately was above his depth and got in with the wrong group.

Amazed Tony Soprano didn't get a mention. Spagnolo had some bad company!! Steve Sharp wasn't the brightest CEO going around though, he definitely wore his heart on his sleeve cause he won premierships with the Eels. There have been too many former Eels players that couldn't become decent coaches and administrators. A who's who of blue and gold flops.

I agree Sharp wasnt the brightest but he doesnt have much opposition to go up against, the other were scum and fools. The tradition still continues.

At least Sharp had personality and character, the latest group are a bunch of nobodies that have never achieved success as a player or administrator. The grave digger and his K-Mart socks won't deliver a premiership, whereas Politis in his Giorgio Armani suit has trophies in his cabinet overlooking Sydney Harbour.

It is tough being a fan of that club and not being able to do anything about the total incompetence. It has been a recurring theme since the end of the glory days. I would not regard myself as a good administrator, but I could do better than the trash the Eels have. The flushing fool would have been gone a number of years ago.

I never would have expected a 35 year drought in 1987!! I really did believe the Eels were going to win premierships every decade after the 80's, but I guess I was thinking as a 13 year old. Those first two games during the '87 season brought me back to reality and the Eels didn't make the finals again until 1997.

I would have agreed with you in 1987. Unfortunately neither of us would have realized that the Eels would be so poorly run by fools and assholes ever since.

By the late 80's Eels were only winning half of their games and couldn't even match it with the newcomers Broncos, Knights and Giants. Beat those teams occasionally, but Broncos and Knights were on the up as soon as they entered the competition, whereas the Eels were sliding down and by the mid 90's they'd hit rock bottom only avoiding the spoon by one game.
