The novelty wore off very quick after 1986. Mrs janitor has gone from a woman of normal means to a total high maintenance bitch. The janitor is losing all his money to her high fluting lifestyle

The novelty wore off very quick after 1986. Mrs janitor has gone from a woman of normal means to a total high maintenance bitch. The janitor is losing all his money to her high fluting lifestyle The Janitor has been paid a lot of money for only two finals appearances in six years. Football is a cut throat sport, and brings about sackings if success is not achieved, but the Janitor was re-signed after a wooden spoon. I don't understand that logic. Eels have only really had one high profile coach since the glory days and that coach always choked at the end of the year.

really unbelievably poor record. It is tough being an Eels supporter. The blunders are amazing and unbelievable. You just dont see that with any other club.

Every club does have a drought, but the glory years at Parra in the 80's were so great, that it's been hard to accept the results that followed. I honestly thought back then, that the glory years would continue forever. Sure I was young at the time and never followed the Eels in the early days when they were always winning wooden spoons, but I thought they would remain successful. The late 80's and early 90's was a reality check.

They had the possibility of extending the glory years, but there was one huge barrier, he was the emperor of cumberland who rape the club of its money and invested in the most lousy untalented bunch of players to ever play the game. What a farce it has been since the 80's for the Eels.

What a farce it has been since the 80's for the Eels. The Emperor and the fall of Parramatta. We had a great empire in the 80's and that bastard made it fall!! Couldn't sign any big name players after Price and Cronin retired and the next crop of young players at Parra weren't as good. Eels best player in the early 90's was Scott Mahon.

Scott Mahon, that is a laugh a second, he was so embarrassing to watch. That lousy emperor popably had him on $300K contract but only got paid $100K and the emperor pocketed the rest? That is my theory anyway. I remember the Eels at one time had the worst team on paper but were over the salary cap, how the hell do you do that with a bunch of chumps?

During the 90's the players salary wasn't made known to the public like it is today, but surely the Eels players weren't on the same money as the Raiders and Broncos players? Scott Mahon on 250K the same as Allan Langer!! LOL But if there was a salary cap and every team reached the cap limit, then the teams at the bottom of the ladder back then had players on big money like the games best players? Unless there were no Parra players on 250K back then. Were players valued back then? Who would earn 250K (highest paid players back then) from this list - S.Mahon W.Simonds M.Buettner A.Patmore B.Plowman K.Blackett S.Galbraith P.McPhail C.Blair C.King J.Fearnley T.Tollett P.Dunn

Micheal Buettner was good, but by god what a lousy team. It really amazes me that the Eels didnt get more wooden spoons. The only reason why was because of new clubs on the scene, who didnt quite gel yet. That would seriously have to be one of the worst teams ever.

Played in a good side at North Sydney, before coming back to Parramatta to play finals football. Gold Coast and North Queensland were bad in the mid 90's, which saved Parramatta from winning the spoon. Came close in 1995, but won one more game than the Cowboys. 3 wins for the season. Manly won 20 from 22 during the regular season.

what would you prefer, the culture at the Eels or the culture at the evil empire? There is a lot to hate about the evil empire, but they have a great winning culture.
3 wins in 1995, what a turnaround from the glory days of the 80's. Can totally blame Fitzgerald for that, and he wanted to come back after the mess of the salary cap. Why would anyone with half a brain want that fool?

Our supporter base is way better, but their administration leaves ours for dead. Ken Arthurson was good for Manly. Maybe Parra should of signed up John Quayle in the past? 1995 was a disgraceful year. there is only one person to blame for that and that would be the emperor. That would have never happened under ken Arthurson, who was an asshole himself, but did good by the team he was CEO of. At least they were consistent that year and didnt choke. Good to see they beat the Dogs that year as well.

At least they were consistent that year and didnt choke. Good to see they beat the Dogs that year as well. I remember that night Parra beat the Dogs. It was a massive upset. I didn't go to the game, but instead went for drinks after work in Parramatta and yelled out, "Go Parra" to the Bulldogs supporters at the train station who were on the opposite platform after the game. I spoke to a few Parra supporters on the train and they were saying, the win was great, but Parra are terrible, so let's not get carried away. Don't know how Parra won that game when the Bulldogs had this team - Parramatta P.Howlett L.Oudenryn V.Fawcett D.Woods J.Frare K.Blackett C.Lawler C.Blair C.King J.Morgan P.Clarke T.Campbell P.Dunn Bench R.Muchmore D.Weston M.Spence D.Grimley Canterbury K.Tassell J.Williams J.Timu J.McCracken D.Halligan T.Lamb C.Polla-Mounter J.Dymock S.Gillies R.Relf M.Newton J.Hetherington D.Britt Bench J.Pickering M.Ryan R.Silva S.Price

the dogs must have gone into that game over confident and felt they only had to show up. That Eels team was a pathetic joke. Paul Dunn must have been embarrassed playing in that team. Before the Eels he only knew success.
