If the SCG is like it used to be, I would not like to play there. The surface used to be terrible. I think the smallest crowd will be at Brookvale. That sub-standard ground that does not hold many people.

That sub-standard ground that does not hold many people. SCG has been upgraded over the past few years. New Grand Stand and the playing surface would be better. Brookvale had an asbestos problem, but that has been sorted. Manly almost took their game to Bankwest. WTF??

did that new stand replace the MA Noble Stand? The surface in that photo does look quite good. No hill at all any longer.

yes, never thought of that. The Eels won all there premierships at the SCG. It really is ancient history. They need a new coach, the team is not that far off being capable. Just need 2 or 3 good forwards.

Just need 2 or 3 good forwards. Yeah, it's becoming embarrassing always talking about the glory days. Kenny and Sterlo are looked upon as God's, because no other players have won Premierships since. I like Sterlo's wrap every week. 4:00

I love the glory days, but it is getting to be so damn long ago, we need more glory days very soon. Sterlo and Kenny will always be god's even if we have glory days again. They were so good.

Kenny and Sterlo were not only very talented and skillful, they were quick between the ears too. Could read the game very well. If I make it to 90 and they still haven't won a Premiership, I'll be absolutely disgusted.

the Eels are definitely on the right track, looking for good forwards to sign as the backline does not need much else. We dont even need Semi back, that says a lot. They need to get rid of BA. The front office must go and check out the toilets and think, wow, we are on a winner here.

A decent coach could get Parra over the line. Any news on possible signings?

I think that prop with 3 names from Penrith will be signed. I think that isnt a great signing. He was on the reserves bench and the Panthers were not good this year.

All decent players leave Penrith!! No glory era for the Panthers, 1991 and 2003 are the only Premierships. 2 are better than 0, but they never went on a roll during either decade. The death of Ben Alexander ruined them in 1992.

That’s got to hurt, Panthers fans: Another big name gone as star prop released to join rivals
The Panthers have confirmed Reagan Campbell-Gillard has been granted an immediate release from his contract to link up with the Eels.
The Eels signed Campbell-Gillard on a five-year contract commencing next year and concluding at the end of the 2024 season.
Reagan Campbell-Gillard is the latest in a long list of players to leave the club under coach Ivan Cleary, including Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Waqa Blake and James Maloney.
The 26-year-old prop was a member of the premiership-winning Panthers NYC side in 2013 and made his NRL debut in 2015.
Campbell-Gillard played 114 NRL games for Penrith, while also making his Origin debut for NSW and his international debut for Australia.
“Earlier this year Parramatta approached our club to express an interest in acquiring Reagan’s services,” Panthers General Manager Rugby League Matt Cameron said.
“After lengthy discussions between Panthers, Reagan’s management and Reagan himself, a mutually agreed position was reached.
“The decision to grant this release was not taken lightly. Management of the club’s salary cap is a detailed and complex exercise that at times requires difficult decisions to be made to ensure sustainability.
“While it is always disappointing to see local juniors leave Panthers, this outcome provides our club with crucial salary cap flexibility not only next year but also in future years.
“As a club we thank Reagan for his service and wish him the best of luck moving forward.”
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said he was looking forward to welcoming Campbell-Gillard to Parramatta when he joins the squad in November for pre-season.
“We’re continuing to build our roster and the addition of Reagan, a representative forward, is a great fit for our team,” Mark said.

The Panthers really went to shit when Ben Alexander passed. They were kicking ass before his passing. The Panthers were highly rated at the beginning of this season and they sucked. They beat the Eels at Bankwest in a really ugly game, and came good for a while, but really died in the ass.
I dont think that is a great signing, we need good props and he is a benchwarmer, what is wrong with the Eels?

He may go alright. Wait and see. 26 years old!! At least it's not a Carl Webb signing.
