Lets get Jason Bell out of retirement to replace one trick, he will be a lot cheaper. Even better still why doesnt the front office offer Jason Bell the same as what they would pay one trick?

Lets get Jason Bell out of retirement to replace one trick, he will be a lot cheaper. Even better still why doesnt the front office offer Jason Bell the same as what they would pay one trick? One of many in the late 80s to replace the champion Eels, but the task was too great. Jason Bell is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s in the National Rugby League. His position of preference was at five-eighth. Parramatta A Parramatta junior, Bell made his first grade debut in 1989. He played 53 games for Parramatta before transferring to North Sydney at the start of the 1993 season. However he only played one first grade game for Norths during the 1993 season. Souths Bell rejuvenated his career by moving across the harbour to South Sydney. Here he played 58 games in three years for the club, and was regarded as a senior player by the time he was 24. He formed a solid halves combination with Craig Field. Return to the Eels His strong form at South Sydney gave him the opportunity to return home to Parramatta, and he went on to play another fifty three games for the club. In 1997 he won the club's Jack Boyle Tackling School Award, which is awarded to the club's best tackler each season. In 1998, Bell played 22 games for Parramatta and was a member of the side which nearly made the grand final that year but suffered a heartbreaking loss to Canterbury in the preliminary final. With less than 10 minutes to go on the clock, Parramatta were winning 18-2 but lost the game 32-20 in extra time. By 1999 however, he was struggling to make first grade and instead captained the Eels reserve grade team to a win in the NSWRL First Division Grand Final. Final Years He was not re-signed by Parramatta for 2000 and instead he joined the Newtown club in the NSWRL First Division. Wikipedia

Jason Bell won a GF so I would take him over one trick any day. I am sure the front office would pay him whatever he wanted as long as he talked himself up, to them?

Won a grand final? 1989–92 Parramatta Eels 1993 North Sydney Bears 1994–96 South Sydney 1997–99 Parramatta Eels 2000 Auckland Warriors None of those teams during those years played in a grand final. Are you thinking of a different player.

No, Jason Bell won a GF with the Eels reserve grade team in 1999. OK, I thought it was reserve grade. I remember that day, Eels belted the Balmain Tigers. Probably the only year I remember reserve grade.

Do they still have reserve grade? I used to like going and watching the reserve grade games, or is it now under 23's?

I thought he cleaned all the toilets after they had been used. That is of course what a janitor does.

I thought he cleaned all the toilets after they had been used. That is of course what a janitor does. He'll always have the janitor tag until he wins a grand final. I hope he does embarrass me one day, I'd be happy to wear that egg on my face after years of bagging him and one trick.

I am in the same boat as you, egg would be a good thing to wear if it meant a GF win.

I am in the same boat as you, egg would be a good thing to wear if it meant a GF win. Eels could make another Grand Final if they play all season like they did against the Panthers, but no one knows if that's going to happen cause of their inconsistency. No one even knows which Eels team will turn up next week against the Roosters. The janitor doesn't even know and he's the coach.

They did play great against the Panthers, but realistically can they repeat that performance again this year?

They did play great against the Panthers, but realistically can they repeat that performance again this year? The Panthers do bring out the best in the Eels and that's what I fear, because the Eels may not approach the Roosters the same way and lose on Thursday. It's like every time the Bulldogs play the Eels the Dogs lift and put in a big performance, so every Eels v Bulldogs game is a tough one.

That is well put. I just wish the Eels put in a better effort against the Panthers in the GF. They looked so far from being any type of a chance in that game.
