Bevan French has told NewsCorp he was open to moving to another club at the end of 2019, but NRL.com understands it's far more imminent than that.
French conceded his place at the club beyond this year was up for discussion.
"The main thing me and my manager spoke about was finishing up this year and see where we end up then," French said.
"A couple of clubs have contacted [my manager]. But he's being smart and fair in the way he's told me and them to focus on this year first before I start looking at anything else.
"It's not like I don't like it here at all. They've taught me a lot and I'm still learning a lot off a lot of players we have here. There's only a handful of games left so when that finishes up I'll look at it."
It's understood French is one of several squad members the Eels have identified as players who can move on at the end of the season.
Blake Ferguson is coming to the club and the Eels also have a big opinion of youngster Greg Leleisiuao.
"I think anyone would be filthy because no one wants to get the tap on the shoulder, but in saying that I haven't been in the best form," French said.
"I guess I would be disappointed if it came to that but if it did happen I've got no one to blame but myself.
"As a player you should be able to put yourself in a position where they don't want to do those things. At the moment I fully understand it. You can't blame others if that happens."

Not sure? On Zero Tackle he is contracted at Parra for 2019.

I knew he was contracted for next season but he is not needed. He is just too small.

I knew he was contracted for next season but he is not needed. He is just too small. He was an OK player when he first started, but has been ordinary in recent times. The bad culture of losing at Parra has claimed another victim.

Amazing the NFL players only have one particular task. It would be rare to see a QB make a tackle after throwing an interception. And I think it's funny seeing QB's slide to the ground or run out of bounds to avoid a tackle. LOL Not their role to get smashed in a tackle!!

for an Aussie you know your stuff when it comes to the NFL Love the game!! I'm different to most Aussies that say the game is too stop - start and what's with all the padding etc I like the idea of timeouts and running down the clock and it's still tackle football. Sure every player only has one role, but you get to see a variety of plays whether it be throwing to your wide receivers or handing off to the running back. Even taking a knee when the opposition has no timeouts left towards the end of the game is a great idea - not possible to lose in that situation. The part of the game I really like the most is that you can still be rewarded even if you don't score a touchdown by kicking a field goal. All that effort getting down to the other end of the field for 0 points would be disappointing. The field goal is a good idea, especially if the game is close.

you can do a field goal in rugby league but it is only worth 1 point. They used to be worth 2 points and maybe they should go back to that. In union they are worth 3 points which would be too high in League. Do you record NFL games, the time difference is not good for you.

Field goal in Rugby League is great when you are 12 points ahead. 2 points would be more rewarding, but I prefer 1 point. 2 points would result in more field goal attempts being taken, which might lessen the attempts at scoring a try. America Sunday afternoon / night is Monday morning here. I'm getting updates on the internet at work. I can download the Youtube clips showing highlights during the game.

good that you get a chance to stay updated at work. Remember Rugby League in the 80's had most games on Sunday afternoon like the NFL today, but now there are no 2 games on at the same time. If the NFL was exactly like the NRL, I could watch games on the weekend.
