on a positive note he did get us to the Grand Final in 09 but unfortunately we didnt win. On that note, since Melbourne lost the title for cheating, why didnt the Eels get the title? Hayne was on fire in 2009!! Would you want the title that way, by default? You couldn't really celebrate after losing the GF. Nobody won that year. The history books show that.

no I wouldnt want to win by default, but then is it really default if the other team cheats? It's just not a great way to win. Would of been funny if the Storm got caught during GF week. Would Parra automatically win or the team the Storm beat to qualify for the GF would replace the Storm?

who did the Storm beat to get to the Grand Final, I dont remember? Beat the Broncos convincingly, 40-10. Eels v Broncos would have been a GF more equal on the field and off with the salary cap.

The Eerls have had a fairly good track record against the Broncos. The 2009 and 2001 grand finals both had something in common, the Eels being dominated in the first half of both games.

shame they didnt play for 80 mins in both games I remember when the Storm scored a try in the first half and Sterlo criticizing Parra by saying, "that's not Grand Final defence". But I knew Parra were never going to win that game, because the Storm were on another level.

yes the Storm were cheats, hence the loss of the title. All in all I thought the Eels hung in well against the Storm. Fui was great.

But really, if you are going to win a Grand Final, you have to get off to a good start. No catch up footy!!

I dont totally agree with with that. Teams do come back, if good enough. But against the Knights the Eels got too far behind.

I haven't bothered to check on any Hayne news lately. I think we have all moved on, especially after a 2 win start from 3 games.

not having Hayne has been a breath of fresh air. The whole attitude of the team is great at present. Hayne exudes negativity.
