In 1991, the Eels lost their first seven (7) games. Other bad starts were; 1995 - 1 win from 8 and 1997 - 1 win from 6. 1991 and 1995 was understandable considering their playing roster, but 1997 was very disappointing with a team that consisted of Dean Pay, Jim Dymock, Jarrod McCracken, Jason Smith and halfback John Simon.
