grave digger doesnt even look at the bills, if he doesnt see them he doesnt need to worry about them. That is the way it is the the toilet flusher as well, if he doesnt see him he forgets he is around. What a club man we have as a CEO. The patheticness continues. How come the evil empire is run by a bunch of squabbling girls and is more efficient than the Eels? This grave digger just seems plain inept. Unfortunately, all previous Eels players and managerial staff at the club in the past 40 years never made good administrators. So where do you get good CEO's from that would have passion and business sense? Moore and Ken 'Arko' Arthurson, a long time player, coach and administrator of rival club Manly-Warringah as well as the NSWRL and ARL, were both thought to be ahead of their time in the way they ran their respective clubs. This was reflected with Manly winning four premierships with Arthurson as club secretary during the 1970s and the Bulldogs winning four in the 1980s. Their friendship and mutual respect for one another led to a handshake deal never to poach a player from the other, though they were free to chase players off-contract or no longer wanted at either club. True to their word, neither Bullfrog nor Arko ever tried to entice a contracted Bulldogs or Sea Eagles player to switch clubs. No wonder Bulldogs and Manly had success over a number of decades. They had the right people running the place. The Eels greatest problem is the front office!! Since the last Eels premiership, the Eels had some really good teams, 1997-2005, 2009 and the last few years, but no premiership.

this is not totally true but generally the case. You have to have all things working in the same direction at the same time for success. The emperor proves that wrong, but it is more the case than not. Through shear luck maybe the Eels will have a great CEO someday. When that comes maybe they will recruit a great coach.
The funny thing is that Moore and Autherson were the 2 most dislikeable people in the competition but sure had plenty of success.

just amazing that the season starts again in 2 weeks and still no schedule. What the hell? I could be wrong but you might find all the top CEO's are involved in banks and other businesses. The NRL is football and probably doesn't attract the best going around. Who knows when the season will start? Doesn't look promising. Starting to take away the lockdown here, but not a lot.

I am sure there are more competent people out there than the crap the Eels have dug up for CEO's over the years. NRL clubs probably dont pay as highly as other operations, but there must be some young guys out there wanting to make a name for themselves, earning quite good money to start with and then after making a name for themselves getting the big bucks elsewhere. Whoever picks the CEO at the Eels should be ashamed of himself. This grave digger is just a continuance of lame people in charge of the Eels.

Really need a smart ex footballer that also has passion, which is rare and hard to find. I don't think the Eels will ever find a decent CEO, and by the look of things even a decent coach. Just have to hope for a bit of luck when one day a very good team of Eels players comes about.

The next 2 weeks will be tough, the Broncos will be a lot harder than last season, and the evil empire are always tough.
I dont think the absolute answer is an ex player. I think there are a lot of people out there with good coaching ability but not necessarily, an ex player. That new Knights coach is an example, I think he will do well. I cant give any names because I dont know who is out there, but it takes a good scout to find someone worthwhile and I dont think the Eels have good scouts.

So I'm guessing these two games won't have crowds? That win against the Broncos last season only comes around once every decade. With the break after round 2, I don't know which team to tip. Eels will never find a decent CEO and coach.

there is no momentum for either team, so it is the start over again with no preseason games to get back into the swing of things. Janitors dont do well under pressure, so it does not look all that great for the Eels. Quite pathetic that there is still a lot of guess work as to were the games are going to be played and they have only come up with 2 rounds? I seriously dont have great faith in the ability of the NRL to get things right?
