do you think Fitzgerald had connections in the State gov? I tend to think he didnt, but who knows? That Olympic ground isnt a good ground for weekly games. For a Grand Final it is good. It is too big for weekly games with small crowds. The football stadium that they are apparently pulling down was much better.

the fact that the Eels were poorly run had a lot to do with it I think.

the fact that the Eels were poorly run had a lot to do with it I think. That is true. Bulldogs and Manly continued with success after their glory decades. Parra never produced success again.

A city that needs a decent stadium to host other events, not just football. I agree, the Olympic Ground is terrible for games that draw a crowd of 20K. The new stadium in Parra will create a better atmosphere.

I wish I could be there for the first game at the new ground. They should have Steve Sharp open the ground, since he was the first try scorer at the previous ground.

I hope that changes and the Eels win another 4 titles before Manly and the Dogs win anything It's been 15 years since the Dogs won their last. A minor drought there. Manly will probably win again over the next 5 years. They never have droughts. Can't stand either. Not sure which team I dislike more? Maybe the Bulldogs.

LOL He wasn't a very good chairman. Champion player!! Maybe invite the entire '86 team for the opening. What a game that was in '86, smashed the Dragons.

that is a great looking stadium and should have a great atmosphere. I agree bring in the whole 1986 team that played in the first game. I would not boo Steve Sharp, yes, he was a lousy CEO but he did have his heart in the right place.

I dislike the Bulldogs more, mainly because there supporters are the worst in the NRL. Manly is a very close second though. Manly seem to never under-achieve. Even last season with the lousy team they had they kicked our ass in the second game of the season.
