Mundine is a strange character claiming racism for not being selected for a Kangaroos tour, but so many Indigenous players have represented Australia. I guess his claim of racism is based on himself, not his culture. The real truth, during his time, Lockyer, Fittler and Johns were playing. |

Mundine was never the best. He played some great games but there were better players than him that got selected, simple as that really. When you are a minority is is a good excuse to use the racism card.

Every time he opened his mouth or had an opportunity to win a major game he got shutdown. |

It is easy to blame things on racism. I dont think Australia has ever not selected any Aboriginal players that deserved to be selected? Yes, there is racism in Australia but not with player selection in Rugby League.

Mundine just couldn't handle the fact that there were better players than him at the time. Future Hall of Famers. |

I am not sure if Cliff Lyons was around at the same time as Mundine but he is Aboriginal and he was better than Mundine as well.

Lyons never missed out on selection because of race!!! Cliffy was the next crop of superstars after Price and Cronin. As the Eels were on the decline, Manly started winning premierships again. |

I went down to Gerringong in 1987 with my girlfriend at the time and we went to Crows pub and spoke to him for a while. She was an evils supporter and Crow said that they had no chance at winning the premiership that year which made me happy, the problem was he was so wrong, they did win it that year.

I was so hoping the Green Machine would win, but have to agree with you. 1987 was the most one sided, one horse race I have ever seen, more so than the Panthers the last 3 years. Manly were unstoppable. Ests gave them a run for their money in the finals, but that was the closest Manly came to losing. |
