Mal Meninga is a great coach. I bet Qld would take him back in a heartbeat.
The grave digger needs to go to wherever Jack Gibson is buried dig him up and sign him for 10 years with no 5 year plans. The team is already there just need the coach.

He'd be rotted by now and just a skeleton, but put him in the coaches box. Like weekend at Bernie's, but with a skeleton. Dress him up in his 80's fur coat and glasses. Half time speech would be awesome. He wouldn't have to say much anyway, cause the players would respond to his inspiration.

says something that a skeleton would do a better job than a janitor. The janitor would however do a better job with the toilets than just about anyone. Keep him on so he can do what he does best at!!!!

Keep him on so he can do what he does best at!!!! It's a concern the Eels are not firing on all cylinders just before the finals. Even the Roosters have found form at the right time. Can't go into the finals with unconvincing wins against weaker opponents. Jack Gibson did have some talented players at the Eels, but he could get the most out of them. We'll never know if Gibson would have won the 1984 grand final. By the time the Bulldogs became a force Monie was in charge. Should have kept Gibson 1981-1986.

they are not firing on all cylinders and not firing the imposter coach. They are just not firing at all. There is a lotof talk from the players that they are back on track but actions speak louder than words, and the actions done show anything good at all.
John Monie wasnt that great but he did win a premiership, this ****ed up janitor will never get to a GF. Would the Eels have a list of the worst coaches ever, and that would include Mick Cronin.

When players talk it up it's all over. In this world there are the doers and talkers. Doers get results, talkers only dream. John Monie did have a great team to work with that knew how to win grand finals, but credit still must be given to him. I think he also won a grand final in England. Mick Cronin wasn't a great coach and Ron Hilditch too.

Funny thing for the Eels that coming 3rd has really backfired for them. I thought they had a better chance to beat the Panthers than the Storm.
John Monie at worst was an adequate coach, the janitor at best isnt even an adequate coach. Thee Eels will be so out coached in the playoffs.

That is true, Eels are a better chance at going toe to toe with the Panthers than the Storm. Storm could and most likely will blow the Eels off the park by halftime. Cameron Smith is to good a player. I don't think the Eels will be able to handle the speed of the Storm and stop their big forwards. Storm also have those players that can create freakish plays that are hard to coach against. John Monie was a caretaker, BA a janitor!!

I dont think they can beat either team at present, because they are incapable of playing 80 min football. I know I sound like a broken record, but can you tell me when they last played 80 mins of football???
That was a good way to put it on John Monie.

Since then the Eels have struggled to score points. Check out the offence - Roosters 552 Panthers 537 Rabbitohs 521 Storm 512 Sharks 480 Raiders 445 Knights 421 Eels 392 Worst offence in the top 8. No way are the Eels going to make the grand final. Finished 3rd on the ladder based on the 3rd best defence. Won many games in a dour struggle.

the Eels. are so far from being a chance it is sad. They just dont have anything going for them. They could change that for next season by getting a coach.

It's just bash it up and wait for the opposition to crack. You can be waiting for half an hour for a try to happen, way too long unless they win in a low scoring game. Notice when the Eels make a decent line break they still get tackled before the try line. For the Eels to score the gap has to be as wide as the Sydney heads.

The Storm will not crack. If this game was played after 5 rounds I think it could have been close. The Eels have gone so far backwards since that asshole flusher signed for longer it isnt funny. No defense, no offense = no chance.

No defense, no offense = no chance. Andrew Johns believes the Eels are a chance because they like to spread the ball and their forwards can offload creating second phase play. He thinks the Eels are the team most capable of beating the Storm, but I think he just described the Panthers. Also commented on Mitchell Moses saying footy players are not robots, they are human, so they can't be expected to play great games all the time.
